Matt Carlisle Keeps NC on fire into Playoffs

A football player in uniform is standing on the field.
Matt Carlisle from HS to college

6’3†200 lbs. Matt Carlisle my Senior QB from Newark Catholic HS in Newark Ohio has been the catalyst all year for the Green Wave offense.  Again Friday night Carlisle had a 65 yard run for a Touchdown and a total of 97 yards on the ground plus threw rockets for 200 more yards against Northridge HS to defeat them 35 to 14. When a QB in a high school game can put up 300 yards of offense week after week you are going to win a lot of football games.   Matt Carlisle has done that and sometimes more and has the 7 and 3 Green Wave heading into the State playoffs this week.

A Big congratulations goes to another of Coach Sink’s weekly workout guys is Matt Carlisle’s favorite WR Slater Evans. Slater caught 4 passes for 88 yards in this game and had 2 of those go for TDS from 26 and 18 yards out.  The last one allowed Slater to break the all-time reception for Touchdowns in one regular season record at Newark Catholic with his 12th  TD catch of the season.  This record has stood since 1984 and was previously held by Chris Schell.  Congratulations to a hard working young man playing at  high level.

You can look for Matt and Slater to connect on some more of Carlisle’s incredibly accurate passes as the continue their run for a State title.

Proud of both of these guys and just so everyone knows, both are outstanding young men and great students.  Coach Sink loves to coach kid’s like these.
