Mark Waid keeps Girard Undefeated 4-0

Sometimes this game of football is tough and then sometimes it seems easy.   Easy, was one of those nights for my sensational Junior QB at Girard HS in Girard Ohio.   Mark Waid is rolling along at a fever pitch this year and making his â€mark†on the Ohio and beyond football world and Champion HS Friday found themselves in a position to be no match for him and his Indians.

Steamrolled comes to mind as the proper word to describe this outing as the Indians put up a halftime score of 42 to 0 and a final score of 54 to 0.  Mark has already, this year thrown for 922 yards and 9 TDs, with only 1 INT and rushed for an incredible 525 yards on 56 attempts and 7 TDs,  in only 4 games. These are numbers that most HS QBs would love to show for a years’ worth of work.   Not Mark Waid, I know him, and he is just getting warmed up on his journey to be the top QB in Ohio , the Midwest, and beyond.

Invitations are rolling in and after a successful visit to Miami of Ohio, he is headed to games at Ohio State, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Pitt, Boston College, and as many others as time permits in his schedule of schools he might like to attend.  It is my pleasure to watch all of this unfold for my hard working, talented QB from the football crazy Youngstown, Ohio area.   Mark has been as intense as any QB I have ever had to buy into the theory of just get better every day and you will achieve you dreams.  I for one, could not be more proud of this humble but confident young athlete who is writing the record book at Girard HS and NE Ohio and if he continues, our State, and maybe all of them, to leave the right kind of legacy.   Mark Waid, congratulations and I know you will stay focused at the job on hand of continuing the winning ways for Coach Pearson and the Girard Indians.
