If you are going to play your first varsity football game, you might just want to start like this. At 6’3†and 210 lbs Johnny Caprella QB for Shawnee HS in Lima, Ohio had a stellar performance as he lead his Indians to a 27 to 6 victory over the Delphos Jefferson Wildcats.  Johnny opened up in the first quarter with a 73 yard TD pass to his 4.4 speedster WR Christian Ford and  one of several  of his excellent young receivers.  Then still in the first quarter with 3:08 left Johnny took off on a 14 yard run of his own and made it 13 to 0 .  Johnny then did it again by completing a 33 yard pass to Peyton Wilson to make the score 20 to 0 Indians. Still in the second Quarter the Wildcats bounced back by putting one in the end zone  and that made it 20 to 6 at the half.

In the 3rd Quarter, Caprella lead another Shawnee drive and put it over the goal line with his 2nd running TD of the night by running it in from the 5 yard line and from there on the Indians defense did the rest.

Johnny put up 209 yards passing completing 10 of 18 and 2 passing TDs and then rushed for 90 yards on 17 carries and 2 more running TDs.  I would be remiss if I didn’t mention his fine 4.4 speedster WR Christian Ford as he had a pretty good night too. Christian is a regular at the coach Sink workouts every week and if he keeps working hard could end up playing at the next level as well.  Christian had 3 receptions for 79 yards and 1 TD.

Johnny Caprella has been concentrating on his QB skills for the last year working a minimum of once a week withCoach Sink and even though he is an excellent baseball and basketball  player if you ask him, he would tell you Football is number one. For the first time being on a varsity field in football, I say he had a tremendous night that almost any QB in the state would like to have.   We look forward to his development into a D1 college football player and even on to the NFL. Congrats Johnny Caprella for being another rising Junior Star in the Sink Stable of fine young QBs.  Pictured above with Shemy Schembeckler (of the best) GES recruiting service and Coach Sink.
