Bayles, First Team All-State QB signs with Otterbein

BRAYDEN BAYLES

After an incredible day of throwing last summer for the coaches at Otterbein University on a beautiful day on the turf field at Heath High School Brayden Bayles, my outstanding senior Quarterback put the signature to the offer at the early signing day this month in December, 2023. Bayles, First Team ALL-State in Ohio owns about every record for QB play there is to hold at Heath including all-time leader passer, most TDS (100 ) in his 4 years of starting. Brayden also has most rushing TDS and most wins including taking his team this year to 9-3 and the Regional finals and putting up 449 yards of passing in that game. Bayles brought his team back from a 24 to 0 half time score and only fell short by the final score of 33 to 28 to a very good Ironton team.

I cannot tell you how many times over his career he brought the Bulldogs back from large deficits to end up in a victory. I believe the Cardinals of Otterbein are about to find out what a winner they have in their new QB. Brayden Bayles is about to show the football world what it is like to have that “IT” factor in the heart of a QB that just says Never, Never, Never give up! Give him one more Quarter, two more minutes, even one more snap and watch what this kid can do. He is about to put Westerville, Ohio on notice, if you want to watch one exciting QB you better show up to the Otterbein campus and watch Brayden Bayles in action.

Bayles ended his Senior year with 2266 yards passing and 25 TDS and 928 yards of rushing and 23 TDS for a total of 48 TDS in 2023. His career totals are spectacular as well, throwing for 6601 yards and 66 TDS and rushing for 1931 yds and 30 TDS. Of course, these totals do not include additional yardage for playing on special teams and running punts and kick offs back for TDS as well.

One of my very best ever that I have Coached and deserves all the accolades he gets. Brayden Bayles is not done playing football on a level that most kids only dream about and it would not surprise me if he sets the Nation on fire in D3 football and finds a way to get the Otterbein Cardinals a National Championship. Coach Sink could not be more proud of Brayden who I believe will continue to be a model citizen for younger players to follow.
