Isaiah Healy commits to Ohio Dominican

Adversity Breeds Greatness, one of my statements that all my guys have to memorize, is the description of Isaiah Healy’s senior year.  High expectations was the term used multiple times about Westerville Central HS Warriors for the year of 2017.    No one dreamed that it would turn out quite as bad as it did. Injuries played some part in it but not all, there was a serious lack of focus on many of Zay’s teammates but he kept trying every way he could to inspire and lead his team to a winning season and the playoffs.  Coach John Magestro said he has never seen a player try as hard as Zay did but to no avail, and so they ended up with a 4 and 6 record and lost their effort to play in the post season.

Enough about that, as this article proves that if you keep trying and play your best good coaches will find you. And find him they did. Isaiah had 5 or 6 offers to play at the D1 and D2 level but decided to play here in Columbus, Ohio at the awesome Ohio Dominican University and for head coach Kelly Cummings.  OD has been rated consistently as one of the top D2 programs in the nation and could very well play for the Nation Championship sometime during Isaiah’s career there.

Isaiah’s 4.5 speed in the 40 and his rocket arm and his accuracy is a perfect fit for the offense that OD will be playing and so that same talent that let him bring his team back from a 21 to 3 deficit against the excellent Olentangy Liberty team this year and score 4 TDS in 6 minutes to put his team up by 6 is the same ability that transfers to the next level and will make him an outstanding College player.

GES Advisory and Shemy Schembechler and Coach John Magestro and Coach Sink all put their expertise together to helpIsaiah be known to the College football world. But his film , his work in the classroom, and Isaiah’s infectious personality and his knowledge of the game that he proved when in meetings with the college coaches in front of the white board and their film rooms, were all reasons he will be playing at the next level.

One of the most talented QBS I have ever coached, I am so proud of Isaiah and his football ability but even more proud of whoIsaiah has become.  He is going to be a great asset to Ohio Dominican. Â
