Crawford,Bayles,Smith,&Mitchell at Kent State

Saturday was a wild day for the Kent State U. Mega-Camp, which had a few different start times all throughout the day. That being said, the camp was professionally run in every way and most of the kids got plenty of reps as they tried hard to show their abilities to hundreds of coaches from all divisions in College Football. Most of the MAC and a lot of the Big Ten and ACC coaches were there including Syracuse and Army, Navy, and too many to name them all. Then the D2 and D3 programs from all over the Midwest and East were there so no one should complain about not getting exposure.

My Day started off interestingly as my Senior Star QB from Heath HS, Heath Ohio, Brayden Bayles decided to change plans and instead of coming in the afternoon, had to come at the opening 10 AM session. However, I was not able to make the morning session so I arrived just as that session was closing and He was headed home. Knowing Brayden like I do, if he tells you he threw the ball really well, that means he was spectacular, as there is no critic, as tough to satisfy as Bayles himself about his performances. That is what makes him so good.

Then one of my Freshman QBS, Leo Smith is coming on strong and becoming a real Pro as to how to compete at major camps around the country. He just finished the Ohio State camp earlier this week, where he did well and did an outstanding job at the 1:30 pm Mega-Camp at Kent State. There will be more about Leo soon and possibly, some film from Kent State will be available. Leo threw the ball very well and is getting stronger each day.

Adam Crawford senior QB at Lakewood HS in Hebron Ohio and his WR teammate Isaiah Mitchell were in the last session of the day, starting at 2:30 pm. I was able to see Isaiah run his 40 and his routes on air and both had to impress and coaches watching as he generally runs a 4.5 40, and his routes on air were precise as usual and he kept his hands up running most of the day and was making easy work of the section of the camp. I am proud of Isaiah and he will be a receiver to be reckoned with this fall. Adam, looked like he had been camping for 4 years which he hasn’t, as he made all of his drills look easy and when it came to one on ones, he was definitely the best QB in his section at the camp. I was really impressed with his enthusiasm by complimenting his receivers and the other QBS when thy made extremely good throws. Time after time he threw rockets into sometimes very tight coverages and completed 90 % of his passes and no one else did that. Pictured above Adam Crawford delivers a Dig Route, with his receiver crossing the field, on the money in full stride. I might add, a route that a lot of QBS miss regularly by looking at the receiver and throwing behind them. Adam Crawford has a Big season ahead if Coach John Poulnott can get some protection for him from his Lakewood Lancers. Interest watch will be Isaiah Mitchell and Adam Crawford this fall.
