Florida Atlantic U paid a visit to Annapolis to see if they could be the ones to put up the first victory over the Midshipmen this year. FAU started off with a bang by scoring on their first drive, however Blake Horvath our sensational Senior QB said, not so fast, and answered with 2 rushing TDS of his own of 7 yards each and Navy’s defense stiffened, so by halftime it was a 21 to 13 Navy lead.
I must mention the defensive play of Coleman Cauley who made his first start this year for Navy and had 2 forced turn overs and lead the Middies in tackles and basically wreaked havoc in the Owls offense all day. This allowed Blake to come in and turn those into 2 TDS. Football is a team sport and when Navy plays like Navy can, they are hard to beat.
That being said, Horvath finished the game with 4 rushing TDS and had 174 yards on the ground. He also added just what was needed in the air going 8 for 12 and 83 yards passing. Blake and the boys in Blue and Gold added 21 points in the 4th Quarter that put the game away and 2 of those TDS was Horvath in spectacular fashion with runs of 19 yards and 31 yards.
Navy has a 10 and 0 winning streak going for the first time since ‘59-60 and is 7 and 0 for the year and that is the first time since 1978.
Why is Navy not in the top 25 and why doesn’t someone in the media recognize there are a whole bunch of us that would rather being watching the Midshipmen instead of a plethora of schools with .500 or under wining percentages? Go Blue, Go Gold, Go Goats, Go Midshipmen and keep up the phenomenal season, Blake Horvath, you have a lot of football to be played yet. Coach Sink
