Wyatt Gregory is Flying high for Mt. Vernon

A football player jumping in the air to catch a ball

An interesting story is wrapped around this dynamo of a player, Wyatt Gregory RB for the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets. He has been doing workouts with Coach Sink for a long time, close to 8 years. I must admit that he wasn’t always happy about it but it was part of his duty to catch for his older brother (and his Dad Todd saw to it there was no option) Jaxon Gregory the incredibly talented QB who graduated from Mt. Vernon HS  last year after throwing for a record 2200 yards in the last 5 games of his senior year.

Now it is a different story and this past summer Wyatt was attending sessions with Brittain Long QB at Mt. Vernon because he wanted to get faster quicker and be a better catcher out of the backfield.   He turned all that Had Too into Want Too this past summer, and now look at me, says Wyatt Gregory to the entire State of Ohio high school fans.

His best game this year in 28 carries he piled up 229 yards and lead his team to victory. He now after 5 games, stand number #3 in the State of Ohio and only 10 yards behind the # 2 guy and 30 yards behind the leader in D1 football.  This also includes being pulled at half time of 2 games because of being ahead by a great margin in those games.  Wyatt Gregory’s total for the year as of now are 112 carries for 939 yards averaging and astounding 8.3 yards per carry and 9 TDS and 3, 2 point conversions.    To say that he is MR. Football at Mt. Vernon this year is an understatement.   Wyatt Gregory is The Man for the Yellowjackets and I for one could not be more proud of an athlete I have coached than to see what Wyatt has done with the use of his body to be the best he can be. This is your private coach telling you, you are a special guy and a special football player.   You have put it all together Wyatt Gregory, way to go!!!
