Graham Walker and Woodgrove go for State title in Virginia

QB Graham Walker and his Woodgrove HS team mates have done it again, moving through the playoffs and making it to the Championship game this Saturday at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.   They did it by defeating the big time program from Blacksburg ( home of Virginia Tech) in overtime with a pass thrown by our Senior QB Graham Walker to seal the deal.  The game ended in a 20 -20 tie and Blacksburg got the first shot to win it in overtime but could only come up with a field goal to go ahead 23 to 20.   Then Walker took over and they gained 5 yards on the first 2 possessions and then Woodgrove called for a pass play and Graham put it on the money in the end zone and headed for the final game in the State Playoffs 26 to 23.

When being interviewed by the Roanoke Times, Graham said,†It was just an out route and we felt our guy could win the match up.â€Â Â  Take what the defense gives you is always a winning idea, so Graham did not throw for his normal yardage stats but threw 3 TDS in the game. Very proud of our Virginia QB and look forward to seeing what he can do this Saturday at Liberty.   Congratulations to an outstanding young man and QB  Graham Walker who is first team All Region and Offensive Player of the Year in 4A football in the State.  Go get ‘em this week end.
