Mark Waid Named Big 22 Ohio Player of the Year

The accolades just keep coming for my incredible Junior QB Mark Waid 6’3†210 lbs. from Girard HS in Girard Ohio.  These awards are not easy to come by and you have to play on the elite level every week to win this one.   Mark did just that.   He was only the third Junior to ever win this award in its history, that shows his maturity on and off the field and wow what a Senior year to look forward to.    Mark set the Trumble county and his high school record for most passing yards with 3506 and the record for the most TDS in a single season at both places with 59.

This very prestigious award of being named to the top 22 players in NE Ohio puts you with a great number of players that over the years have had outstanding careers in the NFL but to be named the single best players among those top 22 is  an award to cherish for a lifetime.   Mark , as I said in a text to his mom Amy, deserves every award that is being given to him this year as he is the QB in the statethat has affected his team’s record which was 11 and 2, and the powerful offense they were able to run more than any other.   Turning around an entire program into an Elite one is what Mark Waid is all about.  Always putting his team mates first is Mark’s mantra and his leadership qualities are as good as I have seen anywhere in my years of coaching.

Congratulations on this awesome award, my man  Mark Waid.
