Being a Star QB has its advantages. My outstanding Senior QB from Lima, Ohio, Daniel Cole took a Northern California trip this weekend to visit 2 of the top JUCO Football programs in the West. Both American River and Butte JUCO have been in the final game of the State for all Junior Colleges, and both schools wanted Daniel to visit them so, pictured above left to Right is Griffin Dahn, an excellent QB who played at Nevada after Graduating from ARCC and is one of the Elite QBS from Sink’s short list of Super Stars. I believe Griffin is one of the best ever to play at ARCC and he made the trip back to the school so he could spend a little time with Daniel, a rising Star from the Sink’s Stable. Sink’s super Stars do stick together. In the middle is Rafeal Agular the current Offensive coordinator and the future of American River Football, and of course, on the right is Daniel Cole.
Daniel had also, a great time visiting Butte CC on Friday afternoon. Butte’s most famous alumni is probably the awesome starting Senior QB in the NFL and that is Aaron Rodgers. That story is way to long to tell in this article so if you meet me one day, I will tell it to you. Pictured below is Daniel enjoying practice with their head coach on the left, Robbie Snellings and on the right their offensive coordinator Jon Hays, a former U of Utah QB. (see below) He also did a little white board work with Coach Jon and passed with flying colors as Daniel eats, drinks, and sleeps football and is a 4.0 student. He is as good as anyone I’ve had on play scheming, identifying defenses and formations and movements. Well, maybe not quite as good as Joe Burrow, or Blake Horvath or Griffin Dahn (smile!!), but just give him a little time and he will BE THERE.
Saturday, Mom Jennifer and Dad Bill came along to see ARCC play it’s game against Sierra College. Even though ARCC lost in a close battle 17 to 13, everyone had a good time. Too many turnovers are what made them fall short but those can be fixed.
Daniel Cole’s football journey is just beginning but is off to a good start and I for one cannot wait to watch the trip. Coach Sink
