Everyone was picking Army in this one but not me or a few others. I knew Navy QB Blake Horvath was healthy for the first time since the week before the Notre Dame game. He got time to heal up, sitting on the sidelines for the East Carolina game and having two weeks off, his thumb and ribs were finally whole again.
On the pregame the show they hardly mentioned Blake, but I knew he was ready to play and new the Army QB wasn’t going to beat anyone throwing the ball, but Horvath can and did!! Putting up 107 yards passing and 2 TDS, and an unbelievable 204 yards rushing and 2 TDS that beat Army by the largest margin since 2019. BLAKE HORVATH was MVP with out an argument from anyone. Blake totally dominated the game and his OC called the perfect game including a fake punt that was very timely in the third quarter.
I also do not want to forget the other two guys that always play a part in Navy victories and that is slot receiver Heidenreich who caught one of the TDS and Tezca the fullback who pounded the ball in the middle on a regular basis during the game.
Let me give credit where it is do, Wow, that Navy defense the way they confused the blocking scheme of Army was perfect. Coach Brian Newberry has done a phenomenal job with this Navy team in bringing the COMMANDER IN CHEIF’S TROPHY back to Annapolis where it belongs. The way Blake Horvath played, He should have been flown to New York right after the game for the Heisman presentation, and very well could next year.
Dec. 27th is the next for the Midshipmen, where they meet Oklahoma but for now, go celebrate boys and Blake Horvath for an unbelievable performance. I am so proud of Blake and how he has played this year and can’t wait till next year. Coach Sink
