If you like offense and scoring you should have been at the Teay’s Valley Football complex in Ashville, Ohio on Friday night, as the two teams, playing for the Regional Finals put up a total of 106 points in 4 Quarters. Â Granville HS, Granville, Ohio and my big 6’4″ Junior QB Ty Ernsberger dropped 57 points on Mt. Orab Western Brown HS from Mt. Orab, Ohiowho scored 49 as well.
Granville started the scoring and basically stayed out ahead of Western Brown the whole night, and a 290-yard night for the Blue Aces RB Devan Haley who had a fabulous performance to compliment the excellent night of throwing the ball by   Ernsberger. Ty went 6 for 7 and 143 yards and 2 passing TDS which gave him a 23.5 yards per catch average and a completion percentage of 86%.  One of Ty’s spectacular throws in the 4th Quarter was a 50-yard fade when it was really needed to WR Chris Hilton who extended out his arms while giving his 4.5 speed a real test to make the catch in the end zone.
Coach Wes Schroeder and the Blue Aces are now Regional Champs and go on to next week’s challenge in the semi-finals of the State Playoffs.  So proud of how Ty Ernsberger, has stepped up and played like a very experienced HS QB and stayed cool every moment of this playoff run.  Watch for him the balance of this year and next to make a big splash along with these well coached Granville Blue Aces.  Â
