The second drive ended in another success with Bradyn running the ball in with the help of a couple of his BIG lineman giving him the ole’ push from behind from the 2 yard line in.  That makes Bath take a 14 to 0 lead which held until about 2 minutes left in the second quarter when Kenton scored to make it 14 to 7 at the half.   Kenton has a history of multi State Championships when the Mauck Brothers played for their Dad Mike Mauck who was a Hall of fame Coach here in Ohio before moving to Missouri (so he could watch Matt play for the Tigers) and coaching for Glendale HS in Springfield, Missouri where he won several more HS State Championships. Matt’solder brother Ben was a successful QB at Cincinnati before injury took him out of the game.  Mike Mauck would have been proud of Coach Sink’s Freshman, BradynFleharty as he coaches the same basic techniques for throwing and teaching the QB position as Sink does.
The coaching job of Ryan Riedel again looked great as his team came out of the locker room and took their first drive down to score, making it 21 to 7.  Kenton scored again in the 4th Quarter but the 2 big defensive ends for Bath were up to the challenge as they batted down the passes of the Kenton QB at least 10 times during the game and at timely spots in the 4thQuarter when the stemmed the tide of a drive that could have tied the game.  Final Bath and Fleharty 21 Kenton 14 for a huge Bath victory. Riendel definitely has in team headed in the right direction as Friday they take on another tough school Elida HS Elida, Ohio. Picture above is Blaine Albright and Bradyn Fleharty flanking Coach Sink.
