Jared Drake my first team All-State Offensive Player of the year and now an Ohio State OLB set the standard high but Gavin Lyon took the torch from him and did not let it die.  Gavin and I had a conversation in the summer a year ago when Jared left and I told him Gavin, your team needs a great QB and you are that guy, however, even more important, they need a Spiritual leader to take the baton and continue Jared’s influence.  I never mentioned it again.
Check the picture closely. Gavin is standing among more than a thousand people on the field at Westerville Central after the huge victory over Hilliard Darby last Friday night, praying with his team.  This is Gavin being that spiritual leader………  there is more to life than football and this is it.   Proud of you Gavin, and proud of your whole family……………..
