Navy-Horvath Roll on 5-0 Storm Air Force 34 to 7

Blake Horvath continues his directing of the awesome turnaround of Navy Football. At Air Force for the first time in several years engineering a victory of 34 to 7 for his Midshipmen. But that is not what I want to talk about in today’s article, even though Blake put up 249 yards of total offense and ran for 2 TDS.

I am not taking away from the spectacular “Toe draggin catch” that was made by #22 Eli Heidenreich as I coach QBS and WRS privately so I know what a job he did with the catch and the toe drag. However, The job Blake Horvath makes in getting him the football, perfectly timed, and with velocity after rolling left to the opposite hash mark at the 45 yard line. Blake then flips his hips, sets his feet, and fires a Missile to the 12 yard line , with power to spare, so that Eli can make, that now famous “Toe Draggin Catch”.

A little more about the throw, is needed to know for you to realize how incredible both ends of this throw are; A college football field is 53 1/2 yards sideline to sideline, so that makes this throw about 47 yards if Blake is throwing it directly across the field, however he is not, he is throwing it from the 45 to the 12 yard line, in addition to across. Now, without taping it exactly, I can tell you through lots of years of experience this is a 60 yard throw or better, but not heaved, just put it there with accuracy and velocity that very few college QBS can do, so that this awesome catch can be made. You see, many times I have watched him make this throw, or similar ones and I still marvel at the quickness and strength and speed in which he can make these deep throws.

Thanks Blake, for continuing to entertain us with you throwing accuracy. Coach Sink
