This is a spectacular article on a phenomenal QB of mine from Lakewood HS in Hebron, Ohio. Connor Vierstra 6’5″ 225 lbs. Senior QB from Marietta College (undefeated this year and now 7-0) in Marietta, Ohio. This team with Connor leading them, has stormed through this year’s difficult schedule by winning every week by an average of 38.7 points per game.
I have always been an advocate of developing Stars at each position and molding them into a team and my hat’s off to the coaching staff at Marietta because that is exactly what they have done with their talented line up. Of course, it takes an outstanding QB these days in order to do that. Connor Vierstra is that guy.
He always has been a real leader even when he was in HS with a winning attitude (that’s a guy that will do whatever it takes even if it means many extra hours in developing their skills). He was always there, working on all aspects of his game and spending time helping each receiver get better every week.
Enough on what it takes to be the best as Connor has all the stats to prove he is the best. Maybe in the entire country in D3 football. By the way, I don’t care what the Division is, these kinds of stat’s are an amazing accomplishment at any level.
Connor has thrown for 7,584 yards (and counting) in his career at Marietta and is the All-Time leading yardage ever by a QB. Next, he has thrown for a record number of completions 596, 73 TDS, and this year an average of 218.9 yards per game passing, after the 47 to 7 victory over Baldwin and Wallace U. last Saturday.
They certainly have a legitimate shot at the National Championship and it would not surprise me if Connor made it to the next level to keep playing this game he loves.
So proud of this fine young man from an awesome family in Central Ohio and all he has accomplished on the football field. Coach Sink
