This is one handsome Midshipmen but believe me, he can play football too. Blake Horvath QB and his teammates attack the city of Birmingham on Saturday and took down the University of Alabama Birmingham 41 to 18. Blake got it going by running and option down the right sideline, darting and weaving in Blake fashion and then turned on the jets and stuck it in the end zone. Then Blake’s fine running back, Tesca had a couple of moves of his own and put it in the endzone from about from about12 yards. The Navy defense doing it’s job the whole game had held UAB to a field goal.
Then, with under a minute left in the first half Blake Horvath laid-up one of his fabulous deep balls throwing it 55 yards and hitting his 6’3″ sophomore speedster Nathan Kent in stride and Nathan did the rest running away from all the defensive backs for a 77yard TD. Navy 21 UAB 3 at the half and proving Navy can throw the football.
Heidenreich, another of Blake’s fine running backs caught an under route in the third Quarter after Horvath looked to the right sidelines and back the left and he did the rest for a 60 yarder, and I believe his 3rd TD of the year.
Blake finished the day with 225 yards passing and a TD and rushed for 84 yards and a TD, making his totals for the year in 4 games, Passing 637 yards with a 68.2% completion rate and 7 TDS, and rushing for 450 yards, a 9.6 yards per carry and 8 TDS.
Really proud of what he has accomplished, and he has only just begun. Coach Sink
