My outstanding young Junior QB Brayden Bayles took down the Johnstown Jonnies Friday with another one of his all-out effort performances. Bayles and HC Tim Ward and their Heath Bulldogs took it to Johnstown 33 to 24 in a well fought battle at the Jonnies home field. Bayles was 16 of 25 for 290 yards and 2 TDS through the air and another 49 yards and 1 TD on the ground, giving him 390 yards of total offense for the night.
He certainly used all his weapons well as Grayson Shumate another outstanding Junior slot receiver caught 3 balls for 53 yards, Kaden Green a Jr. caught 4 for 51 yards, and Connor Toomey another fine receiver in the Junior class caught 4 balls for 103 yards and a TD. Will Robertson made 2 receptions for 30 yards and Daylen McIntyre had 42 yards on 2 receptions and a TD and also scored rushing the ball for another TD. Connor Corbett a sophomore, had 50 yards on 15 carries and an interception for 47 yards.
It was a strong performance on a game that was necessary to win in order to continue playing in the State Playoffs, which the Heath Bulldogs will do Friday against Wheelersburg. If Bayles and company can put up another performance like this one, they will be a handful for anyone in their division. Go Brayden Bayles and the Bulldogs.
