Blake Horvath my senior QB at Hilliard Darby HS in Hilliard, Ohio and his Sophomore brother Safety Cole Horvath both played big rolls Friday night in the 21 to 13 defeat of rival Hillard Bradley HS. The game started with drives by both teams that ended in a first quarter of total defensive domination. But, the second Quarter belonged to the Panthers of Hilliard Darby.   QB Blake threw a perfect tight spiral laser in to the end zone from 30 yards on a skinny post to Senior WR Matt Sech for the first score of the night to lead 6 to 0.  Bradley then drove the length of the field to Darby’s 21 yard line only to have my Sophomore QB from Bradley, Brayden Fleharty throw a pick to none other than sophomore Cole Horvath the Panther’s QB’s brother.
Blake and the Darby boys went right back to work and started their drive the from their own 25 and QB Horvath picked up an important 1st down with his great running ability to his own 40 yard line. The next play was a step back play action and Blake stood up and threw a 35 yard strike to his big tight end, Jr. Ben Marsh who did the rest with his speed and beat the Bradley secondary to the end zone for a 60 yard play. 13 to 0 with 1:30 seconds left in the first half.   Bradley fumbled and Darby tried a 35 yard field goal with time running out that was wide to the left, so the score remained 13 to 0 at the half.
After 2, 3 and outs by both teams to start the second half,  Darby got a good punt return to the 47 yard line of Bradley.  Horvath had another excellent throw in this drive to get a first down on the Bradley 16 yard line, and then on 4 straight runs The Darby Panthers took it to the Jaguars and stuck it in the end zone. Blake then had another good throw in the corner of the end zone for a 2 point conversion making the score Darby 21, Bradley 0, with 2:17 left in the third Quarter.
Bradyn Fleharty my Sophomore QB from Bradley finally put a drive together and finished it with a scramble roll out to the right and threw a strike in the end zone with 57.3 seconds left in the game to get Bradley on the board, making it 21 to 7. After an onside kick recovery by Bradley, again QB Bradyn Fleharty running the 2 minute drill showed some great poise in moving his team 42 yards in  51 seconds and finished it with a run around the left side with his outstanding speed to make a game exciting, that was basically dominated by Darby HS. Final score Darby 21 Bradley 13.
Blake Horvath ended the game with 5 completions for 10 attempts for 130 yards and 2 TDS, and a QB Rating of 135.4, and 11 carries for 60 yards. Matt Sech had 3 catches for 44 yards and a TD and Junior Ben Marsh had one catch for 63 yards and a TD. Jacob Baird also had a catch for 23 yards.

So the battle this time between 2 Sink Coached QB’S, went to Blake Horvath, Senior QB and fabulous athlete at Hilliard Darby.  He can play almost any position and will be a fabulous pick up for some D1 College.  He can play on both sides of the ball as he has quickness and speed to burn. Pictured above is Blake #11 and brother Cole # 17. Congratulations to both of you guys on a great night of HS Football in Ohio.
