After last weeks unexpected loss to Gahanna, Westerville Central’s senior QB Isaiah Healy turned the whole season around in one game. Leading hall of fame coach John Majestro’s  Warhawks to huge victory over the storied and famed program at Upper Arlington, with a resounding 31 to 21 Victory.
In the first half the running game was working so Central rode on the back of Allen Smith RB (D1 College bound football player) all the way to the end zone and tacked on a field goal for a 10 to 7 lead. Isaiah took a pretty good pounding during the first half as the Golden Bears were well prepared for Isaiah and his talents so they came after him with vengeance.
The second half as the Zay usually does, brought his team back with enthusiasm and turned the game into a one sided affair. First he threw a 50 yard seam route to one of his favorite receivers, college bound  Ashton Gilkey for a TD to put the Hawks up 17 to 14. Ashton is the former Newark HS WR who had to transfer to Westerville Central before his senior year because of his parents having to move to the Westerville area. I believe you are just starting to see the emergence of 2 WRs (and maybe a few others) that are major D1 players and that isAshton and Cameron Phillips who is on the other side of the field.
The fourth quarter was still close but Isaiah took care of that by running a read option and taking it 37 yards to pay dirt and with 3:34  left in the ball game.
Ryan Hallinan (who I see as a D1 sleeper that is a little under the radar, but not for long) took care of the finish with an exciting 56 yard interception by taking it to the house and planting the final exclamation point to the victory putting WC ahead to stay 31 to 21 with Upper Arlington only scoring the final TD on the Warhawks second team.
Stats for each of the Sink boys were; Isaish Healy, 10 of 17 for 146 yards and 1 TD passing, then Zay rushed for 37 and 1 TD, Allen Smith had 27 rushes for 141 yards and 1 TD, Ashton Gilkey had 2 receptions for 66 yards and a TD, and Ryan Hallinan, returned an interception for 56 yards and a TD.
I believe if this team jells and they crank up coach Moe’s lethal offense, they will be a contender in the playoffs. Congrats to Isaiah, his team mates and Coach Majestro on a great victory.
