There are times in a young athletes career where things just don’t make sense. Mark Waid at Girard High School in Girard, Ohio is going through one of those times.
Adversity breeds greatness, and it does, but it is not always easy to endure. Mark is playing on a team that is winless this year and they have a good program and a good Head Coach but things just happened during the season that were beyond Mark’s control.  That being said He is continually, every week putting up all-star numbers and an effort rarely matched by an athlete particularly of this age.
He is a Sophomore and last Friday night put up 321 yards passing and 2 TDs, Ran for 165 yards and 4 TDs.  He was 20 completions for 29 attempts with at least 4 drops and NO INTs. Now that not only rates as the best QB numbers in his region but has to be one of the very top in the State of Ohio. I could not be more proud of a young athlete as I am Mark Waid.
He is the ultimate competitor and he can say this from memory: Â “I thank God every morning when I get up that I have something to do that I do not like to do, for if I do it, It builds Character, desire, determination, intensity, and perseverance and a hundred other virtues the rest of the world will never know”. Â This statement is serving him well this year.
Mark Waid is a sensational young talent and is proving it while persevering through adversity.
Great job MARK!
