FRESHMAN QB’s are Already Making Waves- Mark Waid and Lucas Pierce

A group of men posing for a picture.

Mark Waid Freshman QB at Girard high school makes his first Varsity start tonight against rival Niles High School in the always competitive Youngstown football area. Mark is a talented 6’1†190 LBS  QB that had a tremendous run this summer at camps with Coach Sink.  He attended the U of Texas 64 Elite camp,  Michigan, Purdue and others and performed at a much higher level than his age group and turned many recruiting heads already.  We are looking forward to the continued coaching and  assisting his football future for many years to come.   Mark and Amy are his proud parents and rightfully so.   Good Luck to Mark in his home opener.

Lucas Pierce Freshman QB at Newark Catholic high school had his opener Monday night for the famed†Green Wave†in Newark Ohio and had an outstanding game against the always strong Licking Valley Panthers.   Lucas has bounced back from a minor shoulder  injury and looks to be ready to go.  He had 206 yards passing  on 15/27 completions.   1 TD passing and 1 TD running.  He also rushed for 35 yards on 11 carries.  He has a great opportunity under coach Franks to reach or surpass the stats of the now Illinois QB Chayce Crouch, who was the Newark Catholic QB through the 2014 season.  Lucas and Mark are 2 of the top young QBs in Ohio and have a great future.  They are going to be fun to watch.
