Coach Santagata and our Senior QB Blake Horvath finally got the offense rolling on the second possession after moving the ball but stalling and punting to Central crossing who went 3 and out on their first 2  tries. The second series started on the Hilliard Darby 14 yard line.  Blake picked up a couple of first downs and got another with a pitch to his wing man but only to get another penalty.  On first down and 25 Blake threw a strike to his slot receiver on a wheel route out of the back field and that picked up19 yards.  On 3rd down Blake picked up 13 yards for a first down at the Central 18 yard line.  Darby kept making gains on each play and Horvath stuck it in the end zone to ad to his All-Time leading TDS for a career at Hilliard Darby. Score Panthers 7 CC 0.

After another good defensive stand Darby got the ball back on their own 47 yard line. After 2 roll outs right were unsuccessful, one being a throw away and the other should have been caught they failed to pick up a first down so had to punt. Central Crossing then put together their only drive of the game and scored but failed to convert the PAT so the score at the half was Darby 7 Central Crossing 6.

After 2 great defensive stands and one failed drive on the Panthers, Blake had had enough and said I think I’ll just have to score and score he did, going off left tackle and letting his speed do the rest for a 73 yard TD run.  Panthers 14 CC 6.    The offense, after another 3 and out for the defense, set up shop at their own42 yard line.  Darby got a first down on the CC 22 yard line to start the fourth quarter and the route was on.  A few plays later Blake Horvath put it in the end zone from the 3 yard line.  Extra Point was good and it was Darby 21 and CC 6.

A pick of the Central Crossing QB and a great return took  the ball to the CC 7 yard line where on the 3rd play the Panthers score again making it 28 to 6 Panthers.     Another pick of the CC QBgave Darby the ball on their 39 yard line.  Blake on third and 10 from his 47 yard line rolls out right and takes off to the 28 yard line of CC.  6 plays later, It is Darby 35 Central crossing 6 and that was the Final.

Blake finishes with 167 yards rushingand to 3 more TDS to add to his record career.   He also went 1 of 2 for 19 yards passing.   So far for the year Blake has rushed for 1628 yards on 213 attempts, for an amazing 7.6 yards per carry and 24 TDS.    He has passed for 23 of 59attempts and 458 yards and 5 TDS and only one INT.   Victory #1 in the Playoffs for Blake Horvath and his Hilliard Darby Panthers.Â
