Brayden Bayles Goes 2 and 0 for Heath

My Super Sophomore  Brayden Bayles lead his Heath Bulldogs to their second straight victory Friday night over Fairfield Union. Brayden got it going right away by throwing a swing pass out of the backfield to Riley Gould that picked up 31 yards, to put the ball on the 21 yard line of Fairfield Union.   The next play was a sweep right to his RB, who took it to the house.   Heath 6 FFU 0

Fairfield Union was not to be denied however, and ran the ball basically out of a power set, putting 18 straight positive plays together for a TD making it 7 to 6, still in the first Quarter. The Bulldogs came right back in the next series with 3 straight runs, a step back screen to the left, and one more run to hit pay dirt. The 2 pt conversion try was no good, so score is 12 to 7 Heath on top.

In three plays Fairfield Union scores again and they still have not thrown a pass.   FFU 14 Heath 12.

The Bulldogs got tough and stopped FFU on their next drive and got the ball back on their own 41 yard line. After two successful runs Brayden threw a perfect Stop route to his excellent receiver Reece Huber for an 11yard gain and a first down on the 29 yard line of FFU.

Then Bayless threw a soft arrow route to his big WR Reece Huber again and he took it the rest of the way and dove into the end zone for the score.  Brayden finished the job by rolling out right and delivered another perfect pass for the 2 point conversion  Heath 20 FFU 14 at the half.

In the second half the Bulldogs had a momentous goal line stand after Fairfield Union had a first down on the Heath 5 yard line. Heath took over with 99 ½ yards to go but on the first play picked up 22 to get some breathing room.  Needing to pick up 7yards on a third down at FFU’s 39 yard line, Bayles, with a play fake threw a beautiful roll out to #5 coming on a 7 yard out, out of the backfield and it picked up 14 yards to the 25 yard line to end the third Period.

After running the ball to the 7 yard line Brayden threw the perfect fade to the back pylon, where Reece Huber could use his length to catch the ball at the high point.  99 and ½ yard drive and the score Heath26 FFU 14 with 11:09 left in the 4th.   The defense did it’s job and that is how it ended.

Bradyn Bayles ended the night 7 for 9 and 125 yards passing and 2 TDS, one INT.  Great night for my super sophomore and just think he is only 2 games into his 2ndyear as the starting QB.  We Look forward to many nights this good and even better.
