Coaching QBS at Best of the Midwest

I Just finished coaching one of the best camps in the US for recruiting, the Best of the Midwest camp run by our friend and fellow coach Greg Brookey, in Westfield Indiana, (a suburb of Indianapolis), yesterday.  Through this camp over the last 10 years has come some of the most outstanding high school talent from over 5 states, and included were more than we can count Players in the NFL and a multitude of D1 College players.  This year was no exception even though the Covid -19 scare was a small deterrent, we still had almost 400 young athletes competing, and a waiting list of 26 or more that did not get their entries in, in time.

As I stated at the camp, I have coached camps all over the US and there is not many that are as good or better than this one.  Our congratulations to Greg Brookey and his staff for another outstanding camp.   Above is pictured the QB Coaching staff for this year, left to right in the picture above is my associate Paul Kilzer, who handles our younger group of QBS and a few HS QBS of his own, then,  Judah Holtzclaw my 2022 6’6†225 lbs. Ohio, D1 First Team All-State Quarterback and last years camp MVP,  who was invited for the first time by Coach Brookey to help me Coach the QBS.    Judah did a great job in his debut as a QB coach and did an awesome job demonstrating footwork and delivery, to all 38 QBS attending, while given constructive criticism and giving praise to each player making good throws.   I was impressed, when Judah, turned to me half way through the camp and said, “Some of these guys would really be pretty good, if they had proper mechanics, but most are short on proper technique.â€Â Â  I agreed!!!   Next in line was your truly Coach Sink, and next to me was our new friend from Ft. Wayne, Indiana Antoine Taylor who also coaches  QBS.

I was proud of my 2 Freshman QBS, who both looked like they could be MVP’s of this camp in the future, as they both competed hard. They are Bradyn Bayless and Bradyn Fleharty.   Neither one looked like Freshman as they held their own against all the other QBS and Fleharty was very impressive with his time in the shuttle of 4.2, beating all other QBS, and most other campers, and I think both did very well in the 40 times too.  We are looking for a bright future for both of these guys, Fleharty plays at Lima Bath Ohio and Bayless, who plays at Heath HS in Heath Ohio.
