Best of the Midwest Camp 2016

3 of our top QBs were invited to the Best of the Midwest Camp put on by Greg Brookey at the Incrediplex in Indianapolis.  Two more did not get entries in on time and were not able to get there, but will be next year.

It  was a good thing we had an indoor facility as the snow and cold were both in good working order on Sundayand Monday

In the upper Midwest.   We gave a heads up to Nate Barko my 2017 outstanding QB from Reynoldsburg and his crew that there was a major accident (actually 3) on interstate 70 about 25 minutes east of Indianapolis and they were able to get around it, but Isaiah Healy Sophomore QB Westerville Central and his car load and myself sat on the interstate for 2 hours and 10 minutes, waiting for the clean-up so we could pass.   Hopefully no one was hurt too badly and thank God none of us were in the middle of it.  Josh Stewart my 2018 fine young Worthington Kilbourne QB and his family were ahead of the mess so they made it with no interruptions.  I missed dinner with the Stewart family but Joe Barko invited me to go to BDubs with Justice and Nate and we had a good time watching the NBA All Star game together. Thanks Joe for the dinner.

I would like to tell you how many QBs and WRs we had there but I could not get an accurate count as they were too many.  However, both Nate and Josh performed very well and I was proud of them in the older group competition.  Sometimes at these camps, it is hard to get seen when you do not get as many reps as another kid at your position.   That was true at this camp but all of our kids got great comments from the Rivals, Scouting Ohio, and 247 fox sports people and it is always good to go against some of the best in the Midwest early in the year.  Greg Brookey does a really good job at getting a lot of the top players assembled for this camp.

In the younger division Isaiah Healy , class of 2018 Westerville Central QB was the unanimous choice of the coaches for the top QB of the camp.  Really proud of how he performed and his teammate Cameron Phillips class of 2019 WR who was also the best Freshman WR in that division.

We had a good time competing at our best level and I was really pleased with all the kids from the “Coach Sink†stable of fine athletes.

God Bless

Ron
