Girard High School wins 35 to 0 Lead by Freshman QB Mark Waid

A football player is throwing the ball

The young standout Freshman QB at Girard HS in Girard Ohio takes the team to new heights last Friday night by beating Newton Falls 35 to 0.  Mark has been working hard and putting in the extra time with Coach Sink and so have some of his Wide Receivers.   Well as always it paid off once again. Mark is a 6’1†190 lb. Quarterback with D1 promise written all over him.  He was 9 of 17 for 120 yards and 1 TD with 50 yards rushing to go along with it.   Jake Ryser caught the TD pass from Mark for an 18 yard score. These stats include several drops that would have gone for big gains or TDs so head coach Pat Pearson has turned the page and has opened up his offense and you can see the results.

Mark is getting very comfortable in his role of leading the team and we are very proud of what he is doing with his development and is turning the tide for Girard HS.   We are looking for another victory for Coach Pearson and Girard this Friday.
